Terms of Service

Welcome to whomi.bio (the "Service"), operated by HACKASTRA INFOSEC L.L.C-FZ ("Company", "we", "us"), a company registered in a UAE Free Zone. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

whomi.bio is a link-in-bio platform for software developers and engineers. The Service lets you publish a public profile at whomi.bio/{username} that displays your handcrafted links, live developer statistics pulled from third-party platforms (GitHub, Stack Overflow, LeetCode), a qualified inbox for incoming messages, and optional listings in our public developer directory.

2. Account Creation

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • You agree to provide accurate information during sign-up.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts for abuse, manipulation, or to evade bans.

3. Username Ownership

  • Usernames are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • We may reclaim usernames that (a) infringe trademarks, (b) impersonate people or organizations, (c) violate these Terms, or (d) remain unused on free accounts for more than 12 consecutive months.
  • Trademark holders may request transfer by emailing legal@whomi.bio with verifiable proof of ownership.
  • We do not sell usernames. Buying or selling whomi.bio usernames is prohibited.

4. Profile Content

You retain full ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant HACKASTRA INFOSEC L.L.C-FZ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as required to operate the Service.

You agree NOT to post content that:

  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful
  • Infringes intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, phishing links, or deceptive code
  • Impersonates other people, brands, or institutions
  • Promotes adult content, gambling, or activities prohibited under UAE law

We may remove violating content without prior notice.

5. Platform Usage Rules

You agree not to:

  • Engage in scraping, automated mass-account creation, or activity that overloads our infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Send spam, including unsolicited outreach
  • Bypass usage limits or access accounts you do not own

6. Paid Features

We offer optional paid tiers (Pro Monthly, Pro Annual, Founder Lifetime). Current pricing lives at /pricing. All payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your full card number.

  • Pro Monthly: cancel anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal. No pro-rata refunds for the current billing period.
  • Pro Annual: fully refundable within 7 days of purchase; non-refundable thereafter.
  • Founder Lifetime: one-time payment with a 7-day refund window. After 7 days, the purchase is final.

7. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from /dashboard → Account → Delete.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, engage in fraud, or expose the Company to legal risk.
  • Upon termination, your profile becomes inaccessible. Public data may persist in archives and search indexes operated by third parties (e.g. Google), which we do not control.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure, or that third-party API data will always be available or current.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, HACKASTRA INFOSEC L.L.C-FZ's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold HACKASTRA INFOSEC L.L.C-FZ harmless from any claim arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) content you posted, or (c) your violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the regulations of the Free Zone in which Hackastra Infosec FZ-LLC is registered. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively by the courts of the UAE.

12. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a banner on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
