These terms ("Terms") govern your use of whomi.bio. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Don't agree? Don't use the service — and please email us so we can do better.
1. The service
whomi.bio is a hosted link-in-bio platform for engineers. We provide tools to create a public profile, embed live stats, receive in-context messages, and appear in a public directory.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done under your account.
- One human = one personal account. Brand / company / project accounts are allowed too — just don't impersonate.
3. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Impersonate another person or claim a handle in bad faith (handle squatting).
- Post or link to content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit.
- Use the inbox to send spam or solicit illegal activity.
- Scrape, abuse, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits on our API or that of integrated third-parties (GitHub, Stack Overflow, LeetCode).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code outside of legitimate security research.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
4. Content & ownership
You retain ownership of everything you post (bio, links, messages). By posting on a public bio you grant whomi.bio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, cache, and link to your content for the purpose of running the service. You can revoke this license at any time by deleting the content or your account.
Third-party stats (GitHub, Stack Overflow, LeetCode) are owned by their respective providers; we display them under their public APIs' fair-use terms.
5. Vouches
A vouch is your personal endorsement that another user has the listed skill. You're responsible for the truthfulness of vouches you give. Fake or coordinated vouching may result in removal of vouches and/or account suspension.
6. Pro subscription & billing
- The free tier is free forever for personal bios. Pro is billed monthly via Stripe at the price listed on
/pricing. - You can cancel anytime from your Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no pro-rata refunds.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers via email.
- If a payment fails, Pro features are paused until the payment succeeds. Your free-tier access is unaffected.
7. Inbox & chat
You're responsible for how you use the inbox. We provide basic spam & rate-limit protections but visitors can still send unsolicited messages — please use the spam / ignore labels and report harassment to hi@whomi.bio.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but make no guarantees. We may pause, restart, or update the service to maintain quality. Planned maintenance will be announced where possible.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are inactive for over 24 months, or where required by law. On termination, your public bio is removed within 30 days.
10. Disclaimer
whomi.bio is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where whomi.bio is operated. Disputes will first be attempted in good-faith dialog over email — if that fails, jurisdiction applies.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced via email and at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
